Dr Mohammad Shukri Jahit is a Consultant General & Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon at Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara. He has done significant work dealing with oesophagogastric cancers and functional disorders of the upper GI tract. His true passion, however, has always been clinical nutrition — he has served as president of the Parenteral Enteral Nutrition Society of Malaysia (PENSMA) for the greater part of the last decade. He has also played a pivotal role in the training and mentorship of Upper GI surgeons in Malaysia, having trained and mentored many surgeons during his tenure with the Ministry of Health Malaysia. His contribution to the development of Upper GI surgical training has helped shape the next generation of specialists in the field.
