What is Orthopaedic Surgery
The human skeleton consists of over 200 bones in the body, each with a different form and function. What’s incredible is how they move in perfect synchrony, allowing us a wide range of motions from a small sneeze or yawn to a full stretch, a somersault or the ability to walk and run. Movement comes so naturally that we seldom pay any attention to it until struck by pain or discomfort. With the help of modern imaging technology such as the CT scan and MRI, our orthopaedic surgeons manoeuvre misaligned bones and joints, fix sports injuries and find solutions for musculoskeletal problems.
