About the Doctor

Datuk Dr Joseph Yap Chong Kiat graduated with a medical degree from University of Malaya in 1990. In 1995, he obtained double surgical fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Glasgow. He was the ambassador of the Malaysian Orthopaedic Association to the Hong Kong Orthopaedic Congress of Medicine in 1999, where he presented original papers on Humerus fractures and Radial nerve injuries. He obtained an AO Fellowship at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, Canada in 2004. In 2013, he completed an International Spine Fellowship in South Korea. With the use of fluoroscopic and endoscopic techniques, many surgeries are minimally invasive. These techniques facilitate minimal ward stay and fast rehabilitation for the patients. Datuk Dr Joseph Yap is also actively involved in the management of osteoporotic patients.
