Dr Zool Hilmi bin Awang serves as the Head of the Nuclear Medicine Department at Thomson Hospital, with a distinguished background that includes a Master of Nuclear Medicine from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and a Fellowship in Theranostic Nuclear Medicine from Germany. Responsible for developing the Nuclear Medicine Department at Thomson Hospital from scratch, Dr Zool Hilmi has established a comprehensive range of nuclear medicine services that have positioned the department at the forefront of the field. The therapeutic services introduced include:
• Iodine-131 Therapy for benign thyroid disease and thyroid cancer
• Lutetium-177 PSMA Therapy for prostate cancer
• Lutetium-177 DOTA Therapy for neuroendocrine tumors
• Yttrium-90 Selective Internal Radiation Therapy (SIRT) for liver cancer
