Dr Koong Jun Kit is a General & Hepatopancreatobiliary surgeon with 20 years of clinical experience. His clinical expertise includes surgery for the liver, pancreas and gallbladder as well as other general surgical problems such as appendicitis, abscesses and hernias. He graduated in 2004 and obtained his membership from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2009. He obtained a full scholarship from the Public Service Department to pursue his Master of Surgery from the University of Malaya. He was then offered a prestigious fellowship position at Cambridge University Addenbrookes Hospital for Hepatopancreatobiliary surgery. Upon his completion of fellowship, he served as a lecturer and later as an Associate Professor for the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya (UM). He has special interests in gallbladder surgery safety and imaging as well as in the field of organ donation with liver transplantation. He is currently the National Surgical Train the Trainer’s Director and Adjunct Professor in UM.
